Superb Small Scale 18k Bloodstone Fob
Jewelry throughout the Georgian period was eclectic, refined, and ornate. Georgian jewelry, much like its society at the time, varied greatly throughout the reigns of different king Georges.
The style of jewelry throughout this time period was very much centered around delicate cannetille openwork and repoussé, with an emphasis on the creation of ornate pieces which were for the most part meticulously crafted by hand! The Georgians loved to impress, and they also loved to outwardly display extravagance.
An extremely rare small-scale fob of Royal lineage, the Order of the Garter was founded in the 14th century and has remained an important part of English Nobility since. This fob with two twisted snakes is a subtle but compelling example of the early 19th century.
