15k Incredible Etruscan Revival Bullseye Agate Locket
This example is one of THE finest in the locket genre, especially this transitional of a find. The 1860’s saw a fascination with geometry and simplicity; hence the popularity of agates fashioned as this massive central cabochon, can be found (Over 55ctw!) after much research. However, this early 1870’s jewel captures the whimsey of Etruscan revival with its braid embellished top and star center motif. A dramatic find!
